Citus Data
San Francisco, CA, USA
Founded 2011
Citus Data developed Citus, an open source extension to PostgreSQL that transforms Postgres into a distributed database capable of horizontal scaling across multiple nodes. Founded in 2011 and acquired by Microsoft in 2019, Citus enables both multi-tenant SaaS applications and real-time analytics workloads by distributing tables and queries across a cluster. The Citus extension is 100% open source under the AGPL-3.0 license and is maintained by the Postgres team at Microsoft.
