Readest is an open-source ebook reader built as a modern rewrite of Foliate, leveraging Next.js and Tauri v2 to deliver a cross-platform reading experience across macOS, Windows, Linux, Android, iOS, and the web. It supports EPUB, PDF, and other formats with features including highlights, notes, split-screen parallel reading, text-to-speech, DeepL translation integration, and cloud sync across devices. The project is developed and maintained by Huang Xin, who also co-created KOReader.
