Insomnia is an open-source, cross-platform API client for designing, debugging, and testing REST, GraphQL, gRPC, WebSocket, and SSE endpoints. Originally developed by Gregory Schier as an independent project, it was acquired by Kong Inc. in 2019 and is now maintained as part of Kong's API platform. Insomnia supports local, Git-based, and cloud storage workflows, enabling teams to collaborate on API development and automate testing through CI/CD pipelines.
